Who is Gustav?

Gustav Karlsson describes himself as an organized nerd—a person who likes to keep track of the details in everything he takes on. With great patience and a calmness that remains steady even when technology misbehaves, he contributes a sense of security to both colleagues and customers. These qualities have proven invaluable during his nearly nine years at evolvit.

I believe I have a very good level of patience, and because of that I can usually stay calm in most situations.

Outside of work, you’ll often find Gustav in the kitchen or by the grill, preferably with the ambition of cooking something truly delicious. Music is another natural part of everyday life, whether he’s playing the guitar or having it in the background during a movie or gaming night with his partner or friends. What truly makes him happy is actually quite simple: nice people, good music, and great food. He finds inspiration both in big future dreams—such as travel and housing—and in the small, planned moments that add a little extra joy to everyday life.

How did you end up at evolvit?

Gustav’s journey to evolvit began unexpectedly. An acquaintance—who is now a close friend—reached out and told him about the company and asked if Gustav wanted to meet and talk. At the time, he had no plans to change jobs, but the meeting ran long, and something just clicked.

After about an hour of conversation, he had more or less unconsciously made up his mind. The next day, he nervously went in and resigned from his current job. A few months later, he started at evolvit. There’s no doubt the decision was quick—but almost nine years later, he’s still there. That’s a clear sign, according to Gustav himself, that it was the right choice.

The fact that I’m still here after nearly nine years must mean it was a good decision.

What attracted him initially was the combination of a relaxed culture and strong opportunities to learn new things and take responsibility. Over the years, Gustav has built a broad technical skill set, without being limited to just a few solutions or systems. At the same time, he has grown significantly as a person. His self-confidence has strengthened, and he feels that communication has become more natural, along with a deeper understanding of how businesses operate.

How have you developed at evolvit, and what are you most proud of?

For Gustav, the biggest development hasn’t just been technical. He highlights his personal journey above all—the journey toward feeling confident taking space, speaking with anyone, and being comfortable in new situations, both within himself and in interactions with others.

At work, what he appreciates most is the variation. A really good day includes meetings with nice people and preferably customer visits, where collaboration is at the center. It is also in these situations that he feels the greatest sense of pride.

It’s really rewarding to meet customers and work together to improve their everyday operations.

One example is projects where the customer is facing a major change and feels uncertain about what lies ahead. When evolvit not only implements a system change, a server upgrade, or introduces new support services—but also noticeably improves the customer’s daily operations—that’s when the work feels both meaningful and important.

Did you know…

Gustav is a master at making his own béarnaise sauce! It’s a craft that requires patience—just like great IT often does. At evolvit, we know exactly who to turn to, whether the béarnaise splits or we need an extra dose of calm in our everyday work!

What does evolvit mean to you?

When Gustav describes the culture at evolvit, he does it in three words: friends who collaborate. According to him, colleagues are without a doubt the best part of the job. Many of his favorite people in life are also his colleagues, and it’s natural to spend time together outside of work. Relationships often extend beyond working hours, and there is a strong sense of trust and community. This is also what allows ideas to quickly become reality at evolvit.

If someone has a good idea or sees an opportunity, we don’t wait unnecessarily.

What sets evolvit apart from other workplaces is the pace and decisiveness. Good ideas don’t get stuck in long processes. If you see an opportunity, you act. At the same time, there is a strong sense of security in knowing that everyone has the opportunity to influence things—if they want to.

Mistakes are not seen as something negative, but as part of development. If something goes wrong, people help each other—both in everyday matters and during more challenging times. For Gustav, it’s clear that evolvit takes a long-term perspective, both in relationships with customers and with employees. The ambition is for customers to experience evolvit as a colleague rather than a supplier—someone who sits a bit further down the corridor but is working toward the same goals.

How do you work at evolvit?

In daily work, collaboration is clearly visible. There are internal channels where colleagues can ask for help to move forward in complex issues, and it is rare for a question to go unanswered. This ensures that no one gets stuck and that customers always have the best possible conditions to receive fast and qualified support.

For Gustav’s team, creating value means delivering solutions that truly make a difference. Technology is never recommended just because it is new or trendy—instead, the focus is on what the customer actually needs. This also applies to support: when a customer reaches out, they always speak directly with a technician ready to help. If the issue needs to be escalated, it is handled internally—without the customer being passed around.

The phrase “here, both people and systems grow” is deeply rooted in Gustav’s everyday experience. He sees his own development as a clear example of how the work has shaped him—both professionally and personally. At the same time, there is a strong belief in collaboration and possibilities, with a shared mindset that most things can be solved when you think together.

When we collaborate, we are always much smarter than when we work alone.

And perhaps it is exactly there—in the intersection of technology, patience, and humanity—that Gustav’s role at evolvit truly comes into its own.
