Who is Robin?

Robin Paymer describes himself as open-minded, with an unexpected depth beneath the surface. A description that says a lot. There is a calmness and thoughtfulness in the way he approaches both people and challenges, where listening often comes before drawing quick conclusions.

His personal philosophy is mono no aware, a Japanese expression that refers to appreciating the beauty of impermanence. It’s about being present, understanding context, and accepting that everything changes. It’s also a mindset that influences how Robin views relationships, work, and personal growth.

For me, it’s very much about being open to new truths. Being able to change your opinion when facts or perspectives change.

Outside of work, you’ll most likely find him in the archipelago with family and close friends, who are also the people inspiring him most right now. Nature, tranquility, and togetherness are important counterbalances to an otherwise busy professional life. What truly makes Robin happy in everyday life is genuine kindness—when someone does something for another person selflessly, without personal gain as the primary motivation.

A really great day for Robin starts slowly. Sunshine, a relaxed morning, and ending the day with an excellent dinner—which, according to Robin, preferably includes steak tartare and fine wine—followed by a lively concert. Contrasts, experiences, and emotion, simply put.

How Did You End Up at evolvit?

Before joining evolvit, Robin had tried several different roles and challenges, often in environments focused heavily on numbers, pace, and closing the next deal. Eventually, he felt drained and saturated. He then found himself in a completely different environment: a family-owned furniture store in the countryside, where the pace was slower but people and relationships were at the center. There, he gained perspective—and that’s also where the idea of his next step began to take shape.

I had been keeping an eye on what is now evolvit for some time. When several pieces of the puzzle fell into place, I decided to go for it.

He applied for the role of Head of the Business Center in Norrtälje. What attracted him wasn’t just the position itself, but the feeling surrounding it. He felt a renewed spark and motivation to challenge himself again. The atmosphere during the interview was warm and welcoming, which made the decision easy.

How Have You Developed at evolvit, and What Are You Most Proud Of?

Robin’s journey at evolvit has been anything but straightforward—and that’s exactly why it has been so meaningful to him. He started in retail sales, worked as an inside sales representative, repaired mobile phone screens, and handled purchasing. From there, he moved into field sales, achieving strong results and earning several Salesperson of the Month awards. Today, he works as Partner Manager, where the focus is on relationships, collaboration, and long-term business development.

I’ve grown tremendously as a person. Most of all in my self-confidence and my ability to trust my own capabilities.

His development has been about both competence and courage—having the confidence to step forward, change direction, and take on new roles. It’s a journey Robin describes as far from modest, and rightly so. What he appreciates most about working at evolvit is that the culture has remained intact despite the company’s growth. The family-like atmosphere and culture have endured, even as evolvit has grown from around 10 employees when he joined to approximately 100 today.

Robin is also positively surprised by evolvit’s ability to adapt to changing markets, pandemics, and a constantly evolving world. In his view, evolvit has never stood still—it has always continued moving forward. He is particularly proud of the training programs he, CEO Peter Willbo, and Head of Sales Marcus Wallgren provide for evolvit’s partners, where the feedback and appreciation have consistently been excellent and the results highly positive.

Did You Know…?

Robin has a strong visual and creative interest rooted in 1980s art and retrowave culture. Neon colors, illustrated advertisements, and classic album covers evoke both nostalgia and emotion. For him, it’s a way to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the beauty of what has been—and what is. This curiosity also mirrors the way he approaches people at work: openly and without preconceived notions.

What Does evolvit Mean to You?

Robin describes the culture at evolvit with three words: community, forward-thinking, and solution-oriented. But behind those words lies a clear philosophy about people.

We don’t hire people based solely on an outstanding résumé. We hire social individuals with drive and a hunger to learn more.

According to Robin, what sets evolvit apart from many other organizations of similar size is that it does not follow a traditional hierarchy. Everyone has a voice and something to contribute. Everyone has the opportunity to be heard and make an impact, regardless of role. This creates engagement—but also responsibility.

For both customers and employees, everything is built on a long-term perspective. Salespeople are not rewarded for quick wins but for sustainable business relationships. This creates security in customer relationships and stability within the organization. Another source of stability is employee retention. Robin is currently in his tenth year with the company, but he has colleagues who have been with evolvit for more than twenty years.

How Do You Work at evolvit?

Collaboration is not something that only happens when necessary—it is part of the company’s structure. Across teams, evolvit regularly organizes training sessions and gatherings to strengthen collaboration and team spirit throughout the organization. One memorable example was when evolvit flew nearly the entire company to Athens for several days. Robin believes the trip strengthened relationships among employees and brought the team even closer together.

Another example is the sales team’s performance meetings, where there is always room to discuss cases that have become challenging.

Our salespeople have no hesitation in asking one another for advice, which often results in fresh ideas from colleagues who have faced similar situations before. This frequently helps them explain value to customers from new perspectives that resonate more effectively.

Robin also highlights evolvit’s IT assessments as a particular strength. By looking at the bigger picture rather than individual solutions, evolvit can create value and streamline customers’ operations in ways that would not be possible with multiple separate suppliers. Creating value within the team happens in many ways. The company encourages both activities organized by evolvit and initiatives driven by employees themselves.

For Robin, the phrase “here, both people and systems grow” is far more than a slogan. He sees himself as a perfect example of it. He has gone from retail sales and service to helping partners and colleagues understand how evolvit reaches customers who need support with everything from basic IT solutions to advanced ERP systems. When people grow alongside technology, that’s when real development happens.
